October Project - Fall Collage

Project Attributes:

  • Hot vs. Cold Colors
  • Accent color of mixed media defined
  • Layering to suggest depth (paint & parts)
  • Printed corrugated cardboard = added texture
  • Collage leaves, pine needles, acorns, pinecones, etc.
  • Decoupage process explored

September Project: Textile Designs (Grade 4)


Project Attributes:

  • Fine motor skills were employed when manipulating burlap, cutting fabric and sewing ribbon yarn or thread to personalize the textile design. 
  • Symmetrical vs. Asymmetrical
  • Emphasis – placement of buttons or seqins or feathers

September Project - 3D Sculpture (Grade 5)

Project Attributes:
  • Characeristics of 3-Dimensional sculpture – Line, shape, color, space, balance, weight, light, texture, size, material made from, etc.
  • Team Work – students worked in teams of 4 or 5 to construct a 3-D sculpture out of wood
  • Cooperation, Kindness, good listening to team members, collaboration among team members
